I first saw Kevin “Chopper” Peshkepia’s work at the Detroit Dirty Show 2009. I instantly fell in love with his paintings! I am a big fan of comics, and an even bigger fan of Batman! His use of color combined with pure classical line delights my senses. I really respond to his subject matter and love the size of his canvases. I was performing at Dirty Detroit that year but, it wasn’t until 2011 that I actually got to meet Chopper in person!

I got a call from the director of Nude Nite, asking me if it would be possible to pick up Chopper from the airport. As it turned out, we both landed in Orlando an hour apart. Chopper, via email, informed me no worries that he will wait for my flight to land. Kelly gave me a perfect description of Chopper, short hair, blue jeans with black boots and a leather jacket. Chopper looks like an Artist! We found each other straight away. I was so excited to finally meet this fantastic painter! He is to date, one of the coolest artist I have meet and has an amazing wife!
At the NudeNiteOrlando exhibition, Chopper had installed several of his paintings more like an installation piece and he sat on a tall director’s chair, instructing the observers to pick out which painting best described their personality! I never seen paintings displayed this way and that’s all Chopper! The first painting ” The Safe Word” I purchased from chopper right after the exhibition. I couldn’t take my eyes off of Betty Page screaming “Kiss My Ass!!!” I stayed in touch with Chopper and the additional two paintings were commissioned by me, about a year apart. My love for Batman inspired Chopper to create the second painting “F#ck Superman”. I contacted Chopper wanting another Batman piece, this time with Cat Women! It was pure excitement when the painting “Nice Pussy” arrived! Chopper, YOU are my Favorite Painter!

Wow these are really awesome. Nice work on the overall characters represented and on the amusing side finding them using this kind of banter between each other. It’s way out of the “heroic zone” that they are so well known for. That makes the overall presentation even more unique. Interesting post for sure, I hope for more things like this on the Coralee Lynn Rose blog.
Thanks Ken ! I will be posting more of my favorite artist !
